The paintings and drawings on display here represent my most recent work. Traditional training has provided a strong foundation and vocabulary for me. Earlier, I chose to ignore my formal education in order to find my voice. But as I mature as an artist, I continually find that there is a creative balance between my training and my instincts. While I am clearly in the figurative genre, it is extremely important that all my paintings and drawings also work powerfully on an abstract level.
